1 show did get some recognition from him. have never met him but have been in the front row a few times. i really admire how he has followed his muse rather than focus on the money. he hasn't lost anything with his playing. the last one was 2 years ago at the zoo & he was as good as ever. have seen several memorable shows by him. jeff will always hold a special place on my list. got to meet a lot of my heroes, including keith. ended up working over 25 years in music distribution & have got to see just about everybody on my list. 2 years later, i'm conning my parents into letting me drive to boulder to see the stones on the some girls tour. at that point, aerosmith should've just stayed in the dressing room. he proceeded to play an amazing set that blew my young mind away. jeff came out & before playing said "this place sucks! welcome to the kingdome echo chamber". rick derringer did a fine set then all hell broke loose. aerosmith (rocks tour), jeff beck/jan hammer & rick derringer at the late, unlamented kingdome in seattle. then came my 4th show at the impressionable age of 15. after that saw wings (a beatle!) & chicago (before they turned into a joke, terry kath on guitar). my 1st concert, rock of the westies tour. when i was very young, i was into elton john (up through captain fantastic approximately). Can't recall if i've told this story here before.
